This is one place that I do love, the stake and ribs are always good but I love the chili also the bread that they bring to your table with the honey butter is great also. I'm guessing I'm not the only one that likes this place as every time I go there is always a wait and although I don't like to wait I will for my bowl of chili. I'm usually there either Friday or Saturday night and I guess that's probably not the best time to go. But whether they're packed or slow yes I have been there when there's slow a few times the food is always good.

This place gets pretty crowded around dinnertime on the weekends, so if you want to be seated quickly, come early (around 5PM) or have a small party. Free peanuts while you sit and wait for a table and also at the table itself! The complementary bread and cinnamon butter that they give you are super delicious and fulfilling. I didn't hesitate to ask for more. The waiter was really friendly and patient with our orders. Actually, the staff here is just helpful and amazing in general. If there is someone with a sweet tooth in your party, I recommend that person get the baked sweet potato topped with melted marshmallows as one of the two sides. Pricing is extremely low for a steakhouse and portions are very generous as well. Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite (if not my #1) restaurant in Rapid City. Come here on an empty stomach or be ready to take some of your meal to-go! If it's your birthday, let them know! Prepare to be put on the spot and embarrassed in front of a crowd. Bummer that they don't open for lunch on weekdays. I wanted to eat here again before my flight but it was closed ):

We came in to dine with a party of 7 at busy dinner time on a Saturday night and were greeted with several smiles at the hostess desk. The restaurant is larger than you might think and were seated right away. The server was very friendly and assisted us from 4 year old to grandpa. All adults had steaks and all were done exactly to order. Prices were reasonable and facilities were accommodating and clean. Nice end to a long day of Black Hills travel.

Fun atmosphere. I hate the way the waitress puts your order in at the bar before she goes off and does other fun things like line dances and whatever else. 15 minutes later, your drinks might appear, 14 minutes after you really wanted them. The free peanuts are cool, I guess. Food is exceptionally average. Neat ambiance though. Average service. Texas Roadhouse people, get the drinks to the table faster. Make me feel like I am your most important customer, not another drone. What the hell ever happened to good customer service. At some point, a restaurant in RC will figure this out and you will all go out of business.

The server and even the manager who stopped by were friendly and efficient. Far superior to some of the other "new" steakhouses that have opened up in the past year to include Longhorn Steakhouse & the Dakotas Steakhouse. Don't even bother with those other two places---this is The Best... No we (my wife, son and I) are not affiliated in any way with this fine establishment---it is just too great a place to eat at!

Excellent! Friendly staff, almost no waiting time, quick service, delicious food. We were passing through Rapid City and were looking for some steaks. This popped up by the road and we decided to go. They start you off with some amazingly delicious buns and cinnamon butter (maybe that's a thing but I never had that. They were so yummy, I had to stop myself after two so I could still fit in the main course). We got a Rib Eye Steak, medium-rare and BBQ Ribs. The steak was cooked on the minute and of excellent quality. The ribs were, and I gotta be honest with you on this, the best ribs I have ever had. They were so tender, they literally fell of the bone. Tasty BBQ sauce coating them. I didn't even have time to try my sides..... We also had two margaritas. They were so big, I almost couldn't finish mine. Almost. It's been five hours since and I couldn't fit a plain cracker in my belly. And that all for under $50 for two. It is a loud and big establishment. They're making it an experience rather than a snobby steakhouse. If you don't like the atmosphere, I understand but the food is what counts and they know how to treat you. Good choice!

I had the ribs here with the fresh veggies and baked potato and it was super delicious. They weren't kidding with the "fall off the bone" ribs. For dessert I had there brownie topped with ice crem (suggested by the bartender Laura, which did an amazing job) and it was definitely the best brownie ever! One more thing I want to add is that the bartenders all went out of there way to really remember my name which was a really cool touch to there already wonderful customer service. We've eaten here several times since it opened and every time have been pleased. The food is consistently excellent with great steaks. The service is consistently phenomenol. In my opinion this restaurant has the best steaks available in the Rapid City area. I wonder why, if this restaurant can be so consistently good, other restaurants have such difficulty in being equally as good.

I am normally a pretty big fan of Texas Roadhouse but I must say this particular location doesn't do it for me. The staff is normally pretty cool but the meals I have had here haven't been great. Prime rib is decent but both times I got it, the thing was 1/3 inedible fat. They also seem to always spill au jus on the plate, I don't care for it with my meal and normally wouldn't use it. My biggest pet peeve is that I always seem to be there while they are taking stock of the liquor at the bar. The liquor is kept in cabinets above the bar. Both times I was there the person took inventory while standing on the bar rather than use the step stool which was right there for him. I was literally eating a foot away from his dirty shoe that had undoubtedly been in the bathroom at some point during the day and now is where I am resting my hands and silverware. Totally disgusting, against the health code, and clearly not a one time thing.

Our first visit to Rapid City and came straight here from the airport. We did not know what to expect from reading the reviews. My husband and I decided to come here and we both really enjoyed our visit. The food was good and our server Jessica was amazing. She was on top of what we needed and kept coming back to check on us. Needless to say we came back the next day and got another great server. He goes by the name Alex. He was really fun and had a great sense of humor. Our last night we came back again. We were greeted by the managers and gave us exceptional attention. Our server Jader was very nice and gave us the same service we received on our first day here. The peanuts are pretty good too.... We recommend Texas Road House for their food and great service.

I stopped in here with my family while visiting them in Rapid. Our waitress was very nice, she was attentive and checked in with us. The bread here is sooooo good. I ate like 4 rolls. Way too many. The cinnamon butter that goes with them is so great. I ordered the 8 oz. sirloin with a Caesar salad and sweet potato. The salad and potato were good, the steak wasn't that great. The Texas Roadhouse where I live definitely has better steak. It was cooked how I liked it, but it just tasted like cheap steak. I suppose it was cheap steak, so maybe that isn't a valid complaint. My family I went with are all 60+, and they complained about the noise. My great grandparents are in their mid 80's, and it's a little bit too much noise for them. In the middle of eating, all of the staff got up and did this dance. It was kind of funny to watch, they didn't look too happy. This Texas Roadhouse was okay. The service was good, but my food didn't quite make that mark.
Loved the ribeye - it was cooked perfectly to my request. The bread rolls are also amazing ... We could not stop eating them. Can't wait to come back and try their porterhouse.

When my friend informed the manager and the server the steak appeared to be a sirloin and not a ribeye - and I agree seeing as how it resembled my sons sirloin and looked nothing like my husbands ribeye the manager was adamant my friend was wrong. Sad ... Wish I hadn't spent $85 Monday and $74 Thursday night .... The biscuits aren't that great.

WOW...what an enjoyable meal. My last evening in Rapid City, and I decided to treat myself to a real nice dinner. I chose the Texas Roadhouse. This was my first visit here and It did not go unnoticed...one of the managers came to my table to welcome me, and left me with a take home goodie bag of peanuts, and a free appetizer coupon. This is a very entertaining restaurant and bar...a bit loud, but fun too. The menu is quite large, with many types and cuts of meat, poultry, some seafood (dockside favorites), salads...even kids & ranger meals. I started with the "Rattlesnake Bites"... diced jalapeño peppers and jack cheese, hand-battered and lightly fried. Absolutely awesome...!!! Following was a 10oz prime rib, medium, served with any two sides of your choice...I went with the green beans and the fresh vegetables. the prime rib was nicely seasoned and tender...coupled with the creamy horse radish, au jus and sautéed mushrooms...OMG pure delish. I was too full for dessert but my eye caught the granny's apple classic...maybe next time I will save room. All said and done....I had a very enjoyable dinner, in a fun atmosphere, service was spot on. I will be back...see you there...!!!
